Glen Fern Construction is the rebirth of Odden Construction owned by the father and son team, Helmer and Delwin Odden.  From the mid-1940’s through the late 1970’s, they followed their old family tradition of hard work, pride in the quality of the projects they built, and fair prices. Growing up as Del’s son, I learned valuable construction skills working alongside them, and took every opportunity that came along.  With the untimely death of my father, the company closed.  I still had the love of construction deep in my soul and strove to learn more.  I soon attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I received a degree in Construction Management.  With that, I embarked on a thirty-year career, working in multiple regional markets and construction management roles,  continuously growing in knowledge all the way.  Though fulfilling, I knew there was still something missing; I needed to go back and finish what my family started.

Glen Fern Construction came into being.  The name reflects the 100 year old estate which my grandparents managed for many years.  In 1993 my wife and I were blessed with the opportunity to buy back the part of the estate on which my grandparents lived, allowing us to again rekindle the flame of the traditions past.

 

I encourage you to watch and be a part of this emergence, where owners, designers, and our team of employees will have new and vibrant construction experiences.  My team and I are working hard to make this company the model by which all others will be measured.  In turn, your dreams will become a reality as you can rest assured to receive great experiences, sound pricing, and the pride of a great product.

By working directly for you, the owner, I will see to it that both the design and the construction will meet or exceed your expectations.  I will work to keep you fully informed as your project progresses.  Utilization of on-site video cams, progress photos, prompt meeting minutes, Request for Information forms, and Request for Proposals, are just some of the tools we utilize to keep your project under control.  You will benefit by having a better managed project.  We will provide accurate and well controlled project schedules, facilities that meet your needs, quality control for a project you will be proud of, with strong cost controls, accounting for all monies spent on the project.
